The redevelopment of Westview Village was one of the largest affordable housing construction projects undertaken in Ventura County. Spanning more than 20 acres, the phased redevelopment transformed an aging public housing community originally built in the 1950s into a modern neighborhood consisting of 286 new homes, parks, community centers, management offices, daycare facilities, infrastructure improvements, and public gathering spaces.

The project involved the phased demolition of existing occupied residential buildings and construction of 286 multifamily apartment units, requiring extensive coordination among residents, public agencies, design teams, and trade partners while maintaining an active community throughout construction.

The development incorporated a wide range of sustainable building systems, including rooftop solar arrays, battery storage, graywater irrigation systems, energy monitoring technology, and high-performance building envelopes. Through careful coordination of materials, documentation, and quality control, the project achieved LEED Platinum, Gold, and Silver certifications across its three phases.

The Villages at Westview redevelopment received both a SCANPH Homes Within Reach Award, recognizing excellence in affordable housing development, and an ASLA Southern California Honor Award for outstanding landscape architecture and community design.
