New Construction
This 50-unit multifamily housing development delivered permanent housing for very low-income seniors, extremely low-income seniors, and chronically homeless seniors in unincorporated Ventura County just outside the City of Camarillo. Developed by Many Mansions, a local nonprofit housing developer, in partnership with the Area Housing Authority of the County of Ventura, the project consisted of 49 one-bedroom apartments and a two-bedroom manager's unit.

As the first multifamily volumetric modular housing development in Ventura County, the project required extensive coordination between the modular manufacturer, design team, utility providers, inspectors, and on-site construction teams. Successfully integrating factory-built residential modules with traditional site construction demanded careful planning, sequencing, and quality control throughout the project.

The development incorporated a variety of resident-focused amenities including a community room, case management and services offices, on-site laundry facilities, community gardens, picnic and barbecue areas, and landscaped outdoor gathering spaces. Sustainable design features included a photovoltaic solar system and GreenPoint Rated certification, supporting long-term energy efficiency and environmental performance.

The project demonstrated the successful implementation of modular construction technology at scale while delivering a high-quality residential community designed to serve Ventura County's senior population.
